Vanessa Lybanon

Biography

Ms Lybanon’s obtained a Master’s degree in applied psychology. Her research experience includes several research assistant and coordinator positions in psychiatry, including partial hospitalization, eating disorders and schizophrenia. As a research coordinator for the Nursing Best Practice Unit (NBPRU), she developed both experience in evidence-based practice, with a particular interest developing in the evaluation of best practice and/or clinical guideline implementation. She works closely with Jeremy Grimshaw on various research projects, including the KT-ICEBeRG team.

 


Major Research Activities

Research activity
A study examining the relative contribution of psychological theories to the understanding of practitioner behaviour change and a process evaluation of a trial examining the effects of sending printed educational materials to general practitioners in Ontario
Development of evidence-based practice documentation for paediatric emergency medicine
The development, implementation, quality appraisal and uptake of clinical practice guidelines
